COVID19 - Update from Pacari Chocolates

We hope you and your loved ones are well and safe right now. These are strange and uncertain times for everyone and our small family business is no exception. We have detailed further information below about how we are responding to the current situation and thank you for your support and understanding.
 
Delivery Times
 
As online shopping is still being encouraged (for now), we are doing what we can to ship out your orders. We have reduced deliveries to once a week and as Royal Mail is very busy, please understand that UK orders may take up to 5-10 working days to arrive. 
 
We are following the latest government advice on safety, ensuring the team are paid as usual and trying to keep up with our customer demand for the 'bit of joy' that many say our chocolate products bring!
 
Production and Packing 
 
Remember that (unlike 99% of chocolate bars in the UK), Pacari Chocolates are not actually produced or packaged here in Europe but in Ecuador.  This not only ensures more wealth stays in the developing country of origin, but it also means that all our stock was packed and shipped 6 months or more before this current crisis. 
 
On that note, we are in regular contact with Pacari Ecuador as  developing countries in South America also start to become affected. We are all committed to doing whatever we can to continue to support all the local people involved in producing our treasured tree to bar chocolates. 
 
Reduced Shipping Costs 
 
We reduced our free shipping minimum spend by more than 20%, from £50 to any orders over orders over £42 on our website.  
 
Gift An Everyday Hero in April
 
We know there are many wonderful people, sung and unsung heroes, going the extra mile at this time. So, in April 2020, we asked people to nominate someone special who deserved to receive some extra love and thanks. Every day we selected one person from your nominations and sent them the gift of either a Pacari Cherry or Raw Blueberry Chocolate Bar through the post (see our Facebook channel for more details). We had 30 Everyday Heroes nominated by you. Thank you to everyone who did take part. 
 
If you want to send your own gift of thanks or a pick me up to someone who is socially isolated, just include a heartfelt message with your order (leave details in the notes section) and we can ship directly to them. Another option for those wanting to give the gift of chocolate but leave delivery till later is our NEW e-gift cards.  
Sharing Pacari Organic Chocolates with local food bank last Christmas 

 

There are all sorts of reasons that people can fall on hard times. In many cities across the UK, people are increasingly having to turn to food banks to feed their families and yet donations are falling. We wanted to raise awareness about the increase in need for donations to food banks across the country.

We thought the best way we could help was to give directly to a local food bank and get you, our customers, involved, so you know that your order could also make a difference last Christmas.

Thanks to our customer sales, by the 16th December, the total came to over 200 chocolate bars and we matched this with a further 200 bars. The 400 dark organic chocolate bars have been dropped off to our local food bank and they have asked us to pass on their thanks. 

Online Chocolate Tastings during 2021

We haven't been able to deliver our traditional chocolate tastings or chocolate pairings with whisky, wine, tea or coffee. As we can't meet outside we decided t  bring these events you your home. You can now book our online chocolate tastings for your household from the range we have available for the year or to contact us at sales@pacarichocolates.uk if you re interested in having a private one for a group of friends, colleagues, members or a special party.

We do not know yet how this will affect our business in the long term but we hope to be able to continue to bring you the most awarded chocolate in the world for now. This is our position today but could all change again and either way we want to thank you all for your support, encouragement and custom.
